Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work June Leaf, sculptress, Mabou Mines, Nova Scotia by Richard Avedon. It changed hands for a price of USD 6,985.00 (€ 6,609.58) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Avedon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Beatles Portfolio: John Lennon, Ringo Starr, George Harrison and Paul McCartney, London in November last year with an auction result of GBP 809,000.00 (€ 937,446.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit June Leaf, sculptress, Mabou Mines, Nova Scotia von Richard Avedon zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 6.985,00 (€ 6.609,58) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Avedon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Beatles Portfolio: John Lennon, Ringo Starr, George Harrison and Paul McCartney, London im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 809.000,00 (€ 937.446,28).
