Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Carmen, Homage to Munkácsi, Coat by Cardin, Place François-Premier, Paris, August, 1957 by Richard Avedon was sold in the Photographs auction at Phillips in New York in October this year. The price achieved of USD 25,400.00 (€ 24,034.82) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Avedon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Beatles Portfolio: John Lennon, Ringo Starr, George Harrison and Paul McCartney, London in November last year with an auction result of GBP 809,000.00 (€ 937,446.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Carmen, Homage to Munkácsi, Coat by Cardin, Place François-Premier, Paris, August, 1957 von Richard Avedon wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion Photographs bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 25.400,00 (€ 24.034,82) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Avedon erzielen.
