In April 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Begonias And Wildflowers by Richard Alan Schmid. The result of USD 20,000.00 (€ 18,357.04) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Richard Alan Schmid have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Azaleas & Oranges in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 162,500.00 (€ 147,807.90).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im April 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Begonias And Wildflowers von Richard Alan Schmid zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 18.357,04) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Richard Alan Schmid auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Azaleas & Oranges im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 162.500,00 (€ 147.807,90).
