Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Street Scene, New York by Richard Alan Schmid was auctioned at Christies in New York in June 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 4,000.00 – 600,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,500.00 (€ 2,266.13). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Alan Schmid achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Azaleas & Oranges in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 162,500.00 (€ 147,807.90).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Street Scene, New York von Richard Alan Schmid im Juni 2016 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.500,00 (€ 2.266,13) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Alan Schmid erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Azaleas & Oranges im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 162.500,00 (€ 147.807,90).
