Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Remedios Varo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2015. In the Latin American Art auction, the work Untitled (Liquid Landscape) sold for USD 106,250.00 (€ 96,643.62) - well above the upper estimate of USD 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Remedios Varo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Armonía (Autorretrato Sugerente) in June 2020 with an auction result of USD 6,186,800.00 (€ 5,508,681.33).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Remedios Varo erzielte im Mai 2015 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Latin American Art wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Liquid Landscape) für USD 106.250,00 (€ 96.643,62) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 40.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Remedios Varo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Armonía (Autorretrato Sugerente) im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.186.800,00 (€ 5.508.681,33).
