This artwork by Redy Rahadian achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2008. In the Southeast Asian Modern and Contemporary Art auction, the work Ada gula ada semuat (Where there is sugar there are ants) sold for HKD 137,500.00 (€ 11,319.89) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 65,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Redy Rahadian; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Warrior sold at auction in October 2008 with the realized price of HKD 175,000.00 (€ 17,800.82).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Redy Rahadian erzielte im Mai 2008 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Southeast Asian Modern and Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Ada gula ada semuat (Where there is sugar there are ants) für HKD 137.500,00 (€ 11.319,89) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 65.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Redy Rahadian; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Warrior im Oktober 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 175.000,00 (€ 17.800,82).
