Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Raymond Hains achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2021. In the The Curator’s Eye: The Collection of Professor Dr Karin von Maur auction, the work without title sold for EUR 25,000.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Raymond Hains achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sans Titre, 1967 in October 2007 with an auction result of EUR 334,584.00.
