Auction result well in line with expectations
The work You Handsome Devil! by Ray Richardson was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2007. The price achieved of GBP 6,600.00 (€ 9,802.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ray Richardson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ostenders, which sold at auction in November 2007 for GBP 26,900.00 (€ 37,666.96).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.600,00 (€ 9.802,52) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Ray Richardson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ostenders beobachtet, die im November 2007 für GBP 26.900,00 (€ 37.666,96) versteigert wurde.
