Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction This is Tomorrow: Works from the David Ross Collection, which included the work Over Land and Sea by Ray Richardson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,048.00 (€ 7,036.93), 21% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Ray Richardson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ostenders in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 26,900.00 (€ 37,666.96).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion This is Tomorrow: Works from the David Ross Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Over Land and Sea von Ray Richardson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 6.048,00 (€ 7.036,93) und damit 21% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ray Richardson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ostenders im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 26.900,00 (€ 37.666,96).
