In July 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Ostenders by Ray Richardson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 10,200.00 (€ 15,149.35), 70% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ray Richardson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ostenders, which sold at auction in November 2007 for GBP 26,900.00 (€ 37,666.96).

Im Juli 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ostenders von Ray Richardson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 10.200,00 (€ 15.149,35) und damit 70% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Ray Richardson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ostenders beobachtet, die im November 2007 für GBP 26.900,00 (€ 37.666,96) versteigert wurde.
