Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Philadelphia by Ray Metzker was auctioned at Bonhams in London in October this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,840.00 (€ 3,633.61). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ray Metzker achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Composites: Tall Grove Of Nudes in April 2012 with an auction result of USD 122,500.00 (€ 92,599.59).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Philadelphia von Ray Metzker im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 3.840,00 (€ 3.633,61) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ray Metzker erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Composites: Tall Grove Of Nudes im April 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 122.500,00 (€ 92.599,59).
