Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Greer Garson) by Ray Johnson was sold in the Phillips x Artsy: Endless Summer auction at Phillips in an online auction in September 2020. It changed hands for a price of USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,400.41) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ray Johnson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Comb in March 2021 with an auction result of GBP 47,500.00 (€ 55,800.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Greer Garson) von Ray Johnson wurde im September 2020 in der Auktion Phillips x Artsy: Endless Summer bei Phillips in einer Online-Auktion versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.400,41) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ray Johnson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Comb im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 47.500,00 (€ 55.800,26).
