The »bidding war« ended at EUR 5,875.00 47% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Raoul Hynckes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A still life with apples and a lemon in a bowl in December 2006 with an auction result of EUR 42,000.00.

Die Arbeit Rouge Cloître, l'Etang von Raoul Hynckes wurde im Dezember 2001 in der Auktion Twentieth Century Art including Belgian Art and bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 5.875,00 und damit 47% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Raoul Hynckes auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A still life with apples and a lemon in a bowl im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 42.000,00.
