Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Three Untitled Works by Ramkinkar Baij was sold in the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,250.00 (€ 3,937.30) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ramkinkar Baij achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Festive Eve in December 2013 with an auction result of INR 5,250,000.00 (€ 61,724.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Three Untitled Works von Ramkinkar Baij wurde im März 2012 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 5.250,00 (€ 3.937,30) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ramkinkar Baij erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Festive Eve im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von INR 5.250.000,00 (€ 61.724,36).
