Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Untitled (Set Of Four) by Ramkinkar Baij. The price achieved of USD 10,000.00 (€ 9,067.01) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ramkinkar Baij have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Festive Eve in December 2013 with an auction result of INR 5,250,000.00 (€ 61,724.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Set Of Four) von Ramkinkar Baij zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 9.067,01) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ramkinkar Baij auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Festive Eve im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von INR 5.250.000,00 (€ 61.724,36).
