In March 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Nets with Blue by Ralston Crawford. The auction ended at the price of USD 15,000.00 (€ 9,490.67), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ralston Crawford achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flour Mill #2 in December 2005 with an auction result of USD 654,400.00 (€ 552,609.36).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im März 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Nets with Blue von Ralston Crawford zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 9.490,67) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ralston Crawford erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flour Mill #2 im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 654.400,00 (€ 552.609,36).
