Auction result well in line with expectations
In August last year Bonhams in Sidney held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Constructive Painting, c.1940 by Ralph Balson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 442,800.00 (€ 302,063.07) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Ralph Balson have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2018 the work Untitled, 1941 was auctioned for AUD 402,600.00 (€ 355,559.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Sidney die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Constructive Painting, c.1940 von Ralph Balson zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 442.800,00 (€ 302.063,07) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Ralph Balson konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im November 2018 die Arbeit Untitled, 1941 für AUD 402.600,00 (€ 355.559,48) versteigert.
