In March 2006 Christies in Sydney held the auction THE W.R. BURGE COLLECTION, which included the work Constructive Painting by Ralph Balson. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 119,500.00 (€ 70,534.43), 49% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Ralph Balson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled, 1941 in November 2018 with an auction result of AUD 402,600.00 (€ 355,559.48).

Im März 2006 führte Christies in Sydney die Auktion THE W.R. BURGE COLLECTION durch, in der auch die Arbeit Constructive Painting von Ralph Balson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 119.500,00 (€ 70.534,43) und damit 49% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ralph Balson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled, 1941 im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 402.600,00 (€ 355.559,48).
