Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Ralph Balson could be acquired at Christies in Sydney in March 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the THE W.R. BURGE COLLECTION auction, the work Matter Painting changed hands for AUD 8,365.00 (€ 4,937.41) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of AUD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ralph Balson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled, 1941 in November 2018 with an auction result of AUD 402,600.00 (€ 355,559.48).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ralph Balson konnte im März 2006 bei Christies in Sydney für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion THE W.R. BURGE COLLECTION wechselte die Arbeit Matter Painting für AUD 8.365,00 (€ 4.937,41) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ralph Balson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled, 1941 im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 402.600,00 (€ 355.559,48).
