Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Non-Objective Painting by Ralph Balson was sold in the THE W.R. BURGE COLLECTION auction at Christies in Sydney in March 2006. The price achieved of AUD 20,315.00 (€ 11,990.85) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 18,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ralph Balson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled, 1941 in November 2018 with an auction result of AUD 402,600.00 (€ 355,559.48).

Die Arbeit Non-Objective Painting von Ralph Balson wurde im März 2006 in der Auktion THE W.R. BURGE COLLECTION bei Christies in Sydney versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 20.315,00 (€ 11.990,85) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 18.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ralph Balson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled, 1941 im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 402.600,00 (€ 355.559,48).
