This artwork by Rafael Coronel achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in February last year. In the Latin American Art Online auction, the work Untitled (Head of a Boy) sold for USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,477.90) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Rafael Coronel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Peregrinos Iv in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 118,750.00 (€ 107,768.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Rafael Coronel erzielte im Februar letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Latin American Art Online wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Head of a Boy) für USD 16.250,00 (€ 14.477,90) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rafael Coronel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Peregrinos Iv im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 118.750,00 (€ 107.768,40).
