This artwork by Rachel Whiteread achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July last year. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, London auction, the work Untitled (Torso) sold for GBP 15,120.00 (€ 18,055.97) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rachel Whiteread achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Colours) in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 445,250.00 (€ 565,695.14).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Rachel Whiteread erzielte im Juli letzten Jahres bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, London wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Torso) für GBP 15.120,00 (€ 18.055,97) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rachel Whiteread erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Colours) im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 445.250,00 (€ 565.695,14).
