This artwork by Rabindranath Tagore achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2018. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction, the work Untitled (Dragon) sold for GBP 100,000.00 (€ 113,017.04) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Rabindranath Tagore have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Couple) in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 637,500.00 (€ 550,660.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 100 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Rabindranath Tagore erzielte im Juni 2018 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Dragon) für GBP 100.000,00 (€ 113.017,04) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 50.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rabindranath Tagore auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Couple) im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 637.500,00 (€ 550.660,79).
