Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2016 Christies in New York held the auction The Lahiri Collection: Indian and Himalayan Art, Ancient and Modern, which included the work Untitled (Figure In Yellow) by Rabindranath Tagore. Here, the upper estimate of USD 250,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 257,000.00 (€ 225,636.52). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rabindranath Tagore - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Couple), which sold at auction in September 2021 for USD 637,500.00 (€ 550,660.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Lahiri Collection: Indian and Himalayan Art, Ancient and Modern durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Figure In Yellow) von Rabindranath Tagore zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 250.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 257.000,00 (€ 225.636,52) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Rabindranath Tagore mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Couple) beobachtet, die im September 2021 für USD 637.500,00 (€ 550.660,79) versteigert wurde.
