Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2016 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Asian Art, which included the work Big Flower Bed by Qiu Xiaofei. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 1,200,000.00 – 2,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 1,250,000.00 (€ 147,099.07) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Qiu Xiaofei - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Desolate Wood, which sold at auction in May 2014 for HKD 4,240,000.00 (€ 400,997.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2016 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Big Flower Bed von Qiu Xiaofei zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 1.200.000,00 – 2.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 1.250.000,00 (€ 147.099,07) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Qiu Xiaofei mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Desolate Wood beobachtet, die im Mai 2014 für HKD 4.240.000,00 (€ 400.997,07) versteigert wurde.
