A top price for Qiu Xiaofei - as previously expected
The work Desolate Wood by Qiu Xiaofei was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2014. The price achieved of HKD 4,240,000.00 (€ 400,997.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 3,500,000.00 – 5,500,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Desolate Wood is the most expensive artwork by Qiu Xiaofei that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Desolate Wood von Qiu Xiaofei kam im Mai 2014 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 4.240.000,00 (€ 400.997,07) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 3.500.000,00 – 5.500.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Desolate Wood das teuerste Kunstwerk von Qiu Xiaofei, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
