This artwork by Qian Zai achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2018. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction, the work Orchids, Bamboos And Rocks sold for HKD 275,000.00 (€ 29,016.90) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 100,000.00. Admittedly, works by Qian Zai have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Plum Blossoms In Ink in May 2005 with an auction result of HKD 1,200,000.00 (€ 124,965.58).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Qian Zai erzielte im April 2018 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Orchids, Bamboos And Rocks für HKD 275.000,00 (€ 29.016,90) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 100.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Qian Zai auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Plum Blossoms In Ink im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.200.000,00 (€ 124.965,58).
