This artwork by Qian Zai achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2013. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Orchids And Rocks sold for HKD 137,500.00 (€ 13,036.53) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Qian Zai have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Plum Blossoms In Ink in May 2005 with an auction result of HKD 1,200,000.00 (€ 124,965.58).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Qian Zai erzielte im November 2013 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Orchids And Rocks für HKD 137.500,00 (€ 13.036,53) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 50.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Qian Zai auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Plum Blossoms In Ink im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.200.000,00 (€ 124.965,58).
