Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Calligraphy Couplet In Clerical Script by Qian Yong was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2015, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 5,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at USD 15,000.00 (€ 13,965.18). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Qian Yong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy, which sold at auction in April 2016 for HKD 375,000.00 (€ 42,249.37).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Clerical Script von Qian Yong im März 2015 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – USD 5.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit USD 15.000,00 (€ 13.965,18) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Für andere Arbeiten von Qian Yong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy beobachtet, die im April 2016 für HKD 375.000,00 (€ 42.249,37) versteigert wurde.
