This artwork by Qian Yong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2018. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Calligraphic Couplet in Clerical Script sold for HKD 87,500.00 (€ 9,559.77) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Qian Yong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 375,000.00 (€ 42,249.37).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Qian Yong erzielte im Mai 2018 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Calligraphic Couplet in Clerical Script für HKD 87.500,00 (€ 9.559,77) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 50.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Qian Yong auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 375.000,00 (€ 42.249,37).
