Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
The work A Poem and Landscape of Jinmen by Qian Weicheng was worth HKD 11,080,000.00 (€ 1,280,643.02) to a buyer in May 2016. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings & Calligraphy at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 2,000,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Qian Weicheng; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot River Landscapes sold at auction in June 2015 with the realized price of HKD 16,840,000.00 (€ 1,947,606.24).

Die Arbeit A Poem and Landscape of Jinmen von Qian Weicheng war einem Käufer im Mai 2016 HKD 11.080.000,00 (€ 1.280.643,02) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings & Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 2.000.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Qian Weicheng; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit River Landscapes im Juni 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 16.840.000,00 (€ 1.947.606,24).
