A top price for Qian Weicheng
When the work River Landscapes by Qian Weicheng was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in June 2015, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 800,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than 21 times as high at HKD 16,840,000.00 (€ 1,947,606.24). This high result makes River Landscapes the most expensive artwork by Qian Weicheng that we have observed at auctions so far.

Als die Arbeit River Landscapes von Qian Weicheng im Juni 2015 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 800.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 16.840.000,00 (€ 1.947.606,24) mehr als 21-mal so hoch. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht River Landscapes zu dem teuersten Kunstwerk von Qian Weicheng, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
