Hanging scroll, ink and colour on paper, inscribed by the artist with a poem, signed Jingxi jushi qi kun, dated renwu (1942), with six seals of his reading Qi Kun yin, Jingxi jushi, jiazai tongjing zhi xi, huanghan, jingxi shigu, yi bimo wei yanyun.

Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Among White Clouds, 1942 by Qi Kun was worth HKD 190,000.00 (€ 20,513.89) to a buyer in November 2020. This price was achieved in the auction The Reverend Richard Fabian Collection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy II at Bonhams in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Qi Kun have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscapes in April 2014 with an auction result of HKD 1,000,000.00 (€ 93,006.49).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Die Arbeit Among White Clouds, 1942 von Qi Kun war einem Käufer im November 2020 HKD 190.000,00 (€ 20.513,89) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion The Reverend Richard Fabian Collection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy II bei Bonhams in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 60.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Qi Kun auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscapes im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.000.000,00 (€ 93.006,49).
