Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Daphne by Pyke Koch was worth NLG 865,948.00 (€ 405,682.79) to a buyer in November 2000. This price was achieved in the auction TWENTIETH CENTURY ART at Christies in Amsterdam and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of NLG 250,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Pyke Koch; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Florentijnse Tuin (Florentine Garden) sold at auction in February 2020 with the realized price of GBP 555,000.00 (€ 643,246.26).
