Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Purvis Young was sold in the Outsider Art auction at Christies in New York in February last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,897.90) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Purvis Young achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work People with Halos Above City, 1973 in January 2020 with an auction result of USD 43,750.00 (€ 39,439.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Purvis Young wurde im Februar letzten Jahres in der Auktion Outsider Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.897,90) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Purvis Young erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit People with Halos Above City, 1973 im Januar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 39.439,29).
