The work Untitled (Horse and Rider) by Purvis Young was sold in the Outsider Art auction at Christies in New York in February last year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,897.90), 46% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Purvis Young achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work People with Halos Above City, 1973 in January 2020 with an auction result of USD 43,750.00 (€ 39,439.29).

Die Arbeit Untitled (Horse and Rider) von Purvis Young wurde im Februar letzten Jahres in der Auktion Outsider Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.897,90) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Purvis Young erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit People with Halos Above City, 1973 im Januar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 39.439,29).
