Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Albert Edward Richardson could be acquired at Christies in London in September 2013 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Collection of Professor Sir Albert Richardson, P.R.A. auction, the work A Gothic fantasy, The Feast of the Blessed Virgin, inspired by Reims Cathedral changed hands for GBP 1,187.50 (€ 1,419.47) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Admittedly, works by Albert Edward Richardson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Fantasy of Kubla Khan's Palace in September 2013 with an auction result of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,965.09).
