Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
The work A Design for a public monument by Albert Edward Richardson was worth GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,390.69) to a buyer in September 2013. This price was achieved in the auction The Collection of Professor Sir Albert Richardson, P.R.A. at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 400.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Albert Edward Richardson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Fantasy of Kubla Khan's Palace, which sold at auction in September 2013 for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,965.09).
