Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Still Life With Pipe And Letters by Preston Dickinson was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 22,500.00 (€ 14,236.00). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Preston Dickinson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life No. 1 in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 665,000.00 (€ 534,651.87).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Still Life With Pipe And Letters von Preston Dickinson im März 2008 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 22.500,00 (€ 14.236,00) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Preston Dickinson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Still Life No. 1 im November 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 665.000,00 (€ 534.651,87).
