Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Existence by Prabhakar Barwe. It changed hands for a price of USD 43,750.00 (€ 32,810.86) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 35,000.00 – 45,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Prabhakar Barwe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Chess-Board in September 2020 with an auction result of GBP 302,400.00 (€ 333,445.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2012 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Existence von Prabhakar Barwe zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 32.810,86) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 35.000,00 – 45.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Prabhakar Barwe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Chess-Board im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 302.400,00 (€ 333.445,16).
