In March 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction The Amaya Collection Modern and Contemporary Indian Art, which included the work Ancient River by Prabhakar Barwe. The »bidding war« ended at USD 32,500.00 (€ 25,358.93), 63% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Prabhakar Barwe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Chess-Board in September 2020 with an auction result of GBP 302,400.00 (€ 333,445.16).

Im März 2013 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion The Amaya Collection Modern and Contemporary Indian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ancient River von Prabhakar Barwe zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 25.358,93) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Prabhakar Barwe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Chess-Board im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 302.400,00 (€ 333.445,16).
