Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Still life with plums, white plums, peaches and medlars by Pieter Withoos was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2012. The price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,572.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Pieter Withoos have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Studies Of Insects, Including Two Long-Horned Beetles (Batocera Octomaculata And Eurycephalus Maxillosus), A Nine-Spotted Moth (Amata Phegea), A Yellow-Shell Butterfly (Camptogramma Bilineata) And A Bumblebee (Bombus Hortorum) in July 2019 with an auction result of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 24,703.50).
