Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Barn Interior With Smoking And Drinking Peasants Beside A Fireplace, A Sleeping Child And A Mother Nursing Her Child In The Background by Pieter Jansz. Quast was sold in the Old Master paintings auction at Sothebys in Amsterdam in May 2009. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 11,250.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Pieter Jansz. Quast have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Kartenspieler in einer Wachstube. 1636. in March 2018 with an auction result of CHF 60,500.00 (€ 51,518.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A Barn Interior With Smoking And Drinking Peasants Beside A Fireplace, A Sleeping Child And A Mother Nursing Her Child In The Background von Pieter Jansz. Quast wurde im Mai 2009 in der Auktion Old Master paintings bei Sothebys in Amsterdam versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 11.250,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pieter Jansz. Quast auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Kartenspieler in einer Wachstube. 1636. im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 60.500,00 (€ 51.518,30).
