Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Quack Doctor by Pieter Jansz. Quast was sold in the Old Master & British Works on Paper auction at Sothebys in London in July 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,007.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Pieter Jansz. Quast have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Kartenspieler in einer Wachstube. 1636. in March 2018 with an auction result of CHF 60,500.00 (€ 51,518.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Quack Doctor von Pieter Jansz. Quast wurde im Juli 2018 in der Auktion Old Master & British Works on Paper bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.007,62) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pieter Jansz. Quast auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Kartenspieler in einer Wachstube. 1636. im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 60.500,00 (€ 51.518,30).
