Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Portrait #7, Rwanda (from the series, 1994), 2014 by Pieter Hugo was sold in the Photographs auction at Christies in October 2021. Here, the upper estimate of USD 22,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 22,500.00 (€ 19,477.15). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pieter Hugo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mummy Ahmadu and Mallam Mantari Lamal with Mainasara, Abuja, Nigeria, 2005, which sold at auction in May 2018 for GBP 56,250.00 (€ 64,053.66).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait #7, Rwanda (from the series, 1994), 2014 von Pieter Hugo wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion Photographs bei Christies versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 22.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 22.500,00 (€ 19.477,15) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Pieter Hugo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mummy Ahmadu and Mallam Mantari Lamal with Mainasara, Abuja, Nigeria, 2005 beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für GBP 56.250,00 (€ 64.053,66) versteigert wurde.
