Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Nollywood Series, Mr. Enblo, Enugu, Nigeria, 2008 by Pieter Hugo was auctioned at Christies in New York in April last year. The price achieved of USD 10,080.00 (€ 9,566.29) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Pieter Hugo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mummy Ahmadu and Mallam Mantari Lamal with Mainasara, Abuja, Nigeria, 2005 in May 2018 with an auction result of GBP 56,250.00 (€ 64,053.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Nollywood Series, Mr. Enblo, Enugu, Nigeria, 2008 von Pieter Hugo kam im April letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.080,00 (€ 9.566,29) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pieter Hugo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mummy Ahmadu and Mallam Mantari Lamal with Mainasara, Abuja, Nigeria, 2005 im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 56.250,00 (€ 64.053,66).
