The work A wall lizard (Lacerta vivipara) by Pieter Holsteyn the Younger was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2004. It achieved a price of GBP 7,170.00 (€ 10,835.45), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 43%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pieter Holsteyn the Younger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A tulip book: a volume containing 42 drawings of tulips and one added drawing of a tulip, and another drawing of an iris in April 2002 with an auction result of GBP 124,750.00 (€ 201,842.23).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 43 % übertroffen
