In the The Dr Anton C.R.Dreesmann Collection Old Master Pictures auction, the work Two Red Admiral butterflies, a moth, a weevil, a grasshopper and two pupae sold for GBP 19,975.00 (€ 32,319.03) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Pieter Holsteyn the Younger have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A tulip book: a volume containing 42 drawings of tulips and one added drawing of a tulip, and another drawing of an iris in April 2002 with an auction result of GBP 124,750.00 (€ 201,842.23).
