Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Great Grey Shrike Lanius excubitor by Pieter Holsteyn the Younger was sold in the The Dr Anton C.R.Dreesmann Collection Old Master Pictures auction at Christies in London in April 2002. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,116.25 (€ 1,806.06) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pieter Holsteyn the Younger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A tulip book: a volume containing 42 drawings of tulips and one added drawing of a tulip, and another drawing of an iris in April 2002 with an auction result of GBP 124,750.00 (€ 201,842.23).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A tulip book: a volume containing 42 drawings of tulips and one added drawing of a tulip, and another drawing of an iris im April 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 124.750,00 (€ 201.842,23).
