Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Pieter de Molijn achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in January 2021. In the Master Paintings Part II auction, the work Landscape with a cottage sold for USD 30,240.00 (€ 24,919.65) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pieter de Molijn - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A winter village landscape with peasants on a frozen waterway, which sold at auction in December 2019 for GBP 75,000.00 (€ 88,641.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Pieter de Molijn erzielte im Januar 2021 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Master Paintings Part II wurde die Arbeit Landscape with a cottage für USD 30.240,00 (€ 24.919,65) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Pieter de Molijn mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A winter village landscape with peasants on a frozen waterway beobachtet, die im Dezember 2019 für GBP 75.000,00 (€ 88.641,22) versteigert wurde.
